Great thoughts from Purpose Driven Life
I'm in the home stretch (2 chapters to go) of reading Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life." There are some simple but very profound thoughts throughout the book. Here's one from Chapter 38:
"People may refuse our love or reject our message, but they are defenseless against our prayers."
One discipline I added during the study was to go ahead and type out all the scriptures referenced each chapter. It's quite an amazing collection. Now and then a verse will pop out, even though I might have read it many times before. This one hit me today:
And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us. Acts 17:26-27 ESV
It's just some great stuff for thought and meditation.

Interesting that God has allotted periods of time for every nation and boundaries for each to live within. How arrogant to think we have any control over that. Our nation is truly 'under God.' Every nation is.
And that people should feel their way to him. And find him, the most important part. I like that idea, that we find our way to him. Of course, he makes the pathway, so unless we make the choice to stray from that pathway, how can we not find him?
